He attended Sheridan College in the Honours Bachelor of Film and Television Program. He focused on Picture Editing and Cinematography and took additional courses in Production Management, Assistant Directing, and Producing. During his final year at Sheridan, he directed the first program musical thesis film leading a cast and crew of 20, which was accepted into over a dozen international film festivals winning four best film awards - including Best Student Film at the Ontario International Film Festival. Since graduation, Darren has worked in multiple positions throughout various companies in North Bay, including assistant to the producer for locally shot Made-For-Televsion movies, directing and editing commercials, corporate content, virtual productions during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and producing podcasts, just to name a few.
